Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting instrument criticality assessments
  • Building/improving our procedures
  • Setup, calibration & troubleshooting of instrumentation associated with process equipment & utility systems as per calibration policy
  • Scheduling & Maintenance of Calibration software Compucal
  • Complete documentation on Compucal software
  • Clear and concise written and verbal instructions to site calibration technicians
  • Management of 3rd Party Calibrations
  • Ability to work with Cross Functional Teams
  • Representing CalX in Audit situations
  • Identifying savings and efficiencies as part of the calibration process
  • Support in reducing the number of Out of Tolerance (OOT) events per year by investigating root cause of failures and developing strategies to eliminate these causes.
  • Providing Subject Matter Expert-level support for instrumentation decisions.
  • Leads by example by observing and complying with all safety rules and quality regulations, including QSR and ISO Standards.
  • Assist with other projects, as required.


  • Trade qualified OR Level 6 or higher in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering discipline, or Diploma in Industrial Automation & Controls or Applied Physics and Instrumentation
  • Strong Process Instrumentation Calibration Experience
  • Commissioning and loop checking experience preferable
  • A good knowledge of Calibration Systems and Automation / Controls system
  • Literacy in Computer Operating Systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
  • Possess excellent Communication / Documentation and Interpersonal skills
  • Experience in highly regulated environments
